All meats, veggies, and grains in Spencer's Plate meals are the exact same foods you’d feed yourself and your children. Absolutely everything used in Spencer's Plate meals meet USDA standards. We use no preservatives, and nothing is processed. How do you know what my dog should be eating?

We collect key information such as your dog’s activity level, age, weight, and any food sensitivities they have. We consult with veterinary experts in the pet nutrition field to ensure our food fully meets your dog’s health needs. Furthermore, once your dog switches to our meals, they become part of the Spencer's Plate family. We will continually work with you to tweak portion sizes if necessary.

What’s wrong with my dog’s current food?

Most meat used by large commercial dog food companies originate from severely subpar sources. These are foods most humans would never consider eating, and federal regulatory organizations would never allow such foods to be served to human beings. The predigestion and over-processing of these foods may also be detrimental to proper canine health, and the chemical preservation of dog food has proven to do more harm than good. Dogs deserve clean, healthy foods, free of chemical additives, presented in whole food form that smells and tastes like the food you serve your family at the dining room table.

How are the meals prepared?

The food is cooked at low temperatures to ensure complete, fluid nutrient values. All food is then blast cooled, mixed lovingly, weighed specifically for your individual pup, vacuum sealed in custom pouches, and immediately delivered to our doggie clients.

This doesn’t seem like rocket science. Can I make this food myself?

You can if you want to! While Spencer's Plate is revolutionary in terms of freshness and quality compared to our commercial counterparts, it certainly isn’t rocket science. There are no tricks or secrets here, however acheiving correct supplement values requires professional input. Our differentiator is quality.

How much is shipping?

Shipping and delivery are 100% free, 100% of the time.

How many Spencer's Plate meals are included in each delivery?

You will receive 14 days of food in each shipment. Thereafter, you will receive a fresh box of food every two weeks.

How do I store my Spencer's Plate meals when the food arrives?

Immediately freeze your Spencer's Plate meals upon delivery to keep them fresh. Unlike kibble, Spencer's Plate meals are made exclusively of natural ingredients and don’t contain any chemical preservatives. We suggest you defrost 2 food packs at a time so mealtime is easy!

For how long does the food stay fresh?

While you’ll never have to worry about your food spoiling between shipments, we recommend not storing food for more than 60 days. Each portion is naturally preserved with Rosemary Extract, and is vacuum-sealed to maintain freshness. It’s also important to use the food on the recommended schedule to ensure proper portioning and to maintain pace with your recurring deliveries.

Can I track my Spencer's Plate shipment?

Absolutely! We use UPS as our delivery partner, which means you'll be sent a tracking number for your order as soon as the package is processed by UPS. You'll also be notified of any shipping delays. If you wish to monitor the progress of your shipment in real time you can do so here.

Do I need to prepare each meal before serving my dog?

Our meals are fully cooked and ready to serve straight out of the fridge. However, feel free to warm the food if your pup does not enjoy it cold. We’ve been known to mix in a couple tablespoons of hot water for our little Mattie after long walks on winter mornings. Microwaving also works fine. Heating the pouch is completely safe, the bags are made from 100% BPA-free, high-density polypropylene, so they emit no harmful chemicals. they are also recyclable in most municipalities when rinsed out.

Should I feed my dog anything besides Spencer's Plate?

Spencer's Plate satisfies 100% of your dog's daily nutritional requirements. We take great pride in using the freshest ingredients and carefully crafting a balanced recipe, that it breaks our hearts to see other foods mixed in. An occasional treat is completely fine, but the meals are carefully tailored to fully satisfy your dog’s nutritional needs.

How many pouches should I feed my dog daily?

Each pouch contains one or two day’s worth of food (depending on the size of your dog and the portioning). We feed our dogs twice daily, but use whichever increments work best for your pup. To open the pouch, carefully cut the end off with scissors and empty the contents into a microwave-safe food storage container. This makes serving and storage cleaner, and is easier to heat the food.

Should I switch from my dog’s current kibble to Spencer's Plate immediately?

We absolutely recommend that! Spencer's Plate meals are super digestive-friendly and shouldn’t negatively affect your dog’s tummy in any way. However, Some dog's have digestive sensitivities, so a one or two day transition may be best for those pups.

I noticed my dog is drinking less water than usual, is this normal?

This is completely normal! Our food is much more hydrating than commercial dog food, and your dog may naturally drink less water as a result.

My dog’s weight has changed since starting Spencer's Plate, is this normal?

Natural fluctuation in weight as your dog’s body adjusts to a richer nutrient base is completely natural. Dogs switching to Spencer's Plate tend to lose fat and gain muscle mass, which can cause beneficial weight change. We carefully portion your dog’s meals using a standardardized formula based on key information you provide about your pet. This helps the vast majority of dogs attain and maintain a healthy weight.

However, it’s always good to pay attention to your dog’s weight. Every dog’s metabolism is different. We encourage you to include any unique information about your pet that may affect their portion sizes.
